We are delighted to be able to start offering in-person Community Interpreting courses again in July 2022, in partnership with the WEA.
The Level 2 Award is for students who are interested in community interpreting work in a voluntary or paid capacity in a range of settings, including housing, education, social care, welfare benefits, immigration and health. The Award is suitable for students who wish to gain knowledge and skills of community interpreting including the role of codes of practice, and learn about the settings where interpreters may be required to work.
To join this course, you must be a confident speaker of English and be fluent in at least one other language. You also need to be able to read and write English at Level 1.
Start date: Thursday, July 14th 2022
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30-1.30pm for 4 weeks
Last session: Friday 12th August 2022
This course is free to learners who are on income dependent benefits or a low income (less than £18.135 per year), and to asylum seekers.
