Our friend and supporter Phil Hoyland undertook the amazing challenge of swimming the Catalina Channel in California – risking dangerous currents, night swimming, nausea and hypothermia – to raise money for St John’s Centre, and in particular to fund the new stairlift for our upstairs classroom.
Unfortunately, due to plummeting temperatures and cramp, Phil wasn’t able to complete the challenge. We are happy that he is safe and well though, and proud of his amazing effort! If you want to show your support, you can donate at Phil’s Justgiving Page until September 30th. Please donate if you can – all the money raised will help to make more of our building accessible to more people.
